He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Ebert completed a fellowship in foot and ankle orthopedic surgery at OrthoCarolina O.L. Miller Foot and Ankle Institute working under renowned foot and ankle sport surgeon, Dr. Robert Anderson. It was there he gained extensive experience evaluating and treating professional athletes of all disciplines.
He diagnoses and treats a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions including ankle sprains, fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, sports related injuries, foot and ankle arthritis, instability, tendonitis and overuse conditions. He has a particular interest in sports medicine and currently provides care for both athletes at the University of Texas at Austin, Baylor University, and Austin FC professional soccer team. With a thoughtful, conservative approach to treatment whenever possible, Dr. Ebert focuses on nonsurgical solutions to relieve pain and restore full function. When surgery is needed, he offers advanced minimally invasive techniques designed to support faster recovery and help patients return to activities that they enjoy. Dr Ebert is regularly sought by patients who have problems from previous surgery or treatments from other providers. A large part of his practice consists of these revision or corrective surgeries. Dr. Ebert is also involved in teaching resident physicians and holds an appointment as a Clinical Instructor of Orthopedic Surgery with the Dell Medical School. He is a recognized thought leader in his field and regularly teaches other orthopedic surgeons and consults with several implant companies on techniques and technology development.
Patients consistently highlight Dr. Ebert’s depth of experience and thoughtful approach to care. He is known for his attention to detail, taking his time to fully understand each patient’s condition before recommending a treatment plan. His calm, attentive bedside manner ensures patients feel heard, never rushed and confident in their care. By focusing on both immediate relief and long-term outcomes, he aligns treatment plans with each patient’s lifestyle and goals. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS), the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and the Texas Orthopaedic Association. He has also been appointed as an examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a reviewer and editor for a prominent foot and ankle orthopedic medical journal. He is consistently recognized year after year in Texas Monthly Super Doctors.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Ebert is actively involved in the community. He regularly speaks at scientific conferences, contributes to medical publications and participates in charitable initiatives that provide orthopedic and surgical care abroad. Dr. Ebert regularly travels to Antigua, Guatemala for a surgical mission trip with the Faith in Practice organization, along with some of his colleagues. This unique and humbling experience provides a different perspective on patient experience and the practice of medicine that carries over into the patient-centered care Dr. Ebert provides at home. He also enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time with his family. He is particularly passionate about saltwater fly fishing and travels the world in its pursuit.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Ebert is proud to serve the diverse community of Austin and welcomes patients seeking relief from foot and ankle pain of all varieties.
